Apples-Sal Gruttadauria


Oil on 16" x 20".  I think that the color is a bit too bright a red and the apples are missing some luminosity. I'll have to work on this.

Sal,
This piece could be enhanced by lowering the value of the shadows on the right sides of the apples. I'd also consider moving the color around. The red in the apples could also include a suggestion of yellow ochre and green. -Hall

The value is fine the more I look at it. It's just a matter of developing the secondary planes within the apples with warm and cool tones to make the forms more convincing. Also, pull some warm tones into the green leaves so they are not so isolated.
